Focusing his practice on patents, licensing and technology transactions, Mr. Calderon also maintains a specific concentration on preparing and prosecuting patent applications in many technology fields, inter parte review proceedings and appeals before the Patent Trial and Appeals Board (PTAB) of the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Calderon also practices before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Additionally, he is well-versed in matters of drafting and negotiating technology transfer agreements, confidentiality agreements, joint defense and joint development agreements, as well as settlement agreements regarding complex litigation matters. Garnering a reputation for his expertise over the years, Mr. Calderon formerly worked for several prestigious law firms where he rose from associate to partner. Prior to becoming an attorney, he was an engineer, where he was tasked with numerous projects working with radar systems, including environmental testing and fluid flow analysis.

Mr. Calderon studied at the New York University Tandon School of Engineering (previously Polytechnic University), where he received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1989. Shortly thereafter, he completed a Doctor of Jurisprudence at the Touro Law Center in 1992. Mr. Calderon is admitted to practice by the New York, Virginia and D.C. Bar Associations, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Furthermore, Mr. Calderon is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
