Having grown up in various mining camps and countries across the western hemisphere, Mr. Sacrison became interested in pursuing a career in the field of geology. As a result, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in geology from Colgate University in 1976. The subsequent opportunity was on a drilling project in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of New Mexico. Following that accomplishment, he earned a Master of Science in mining engineering from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in 1980. Mr. Sacrison is licensed as a professional engineer.
While completing his education, Mr. Sacrison continued his career as a junior mining engineer at Kaiser Steel Corporation from 1979 to 1980. Between 1980 and 1986, he found success as a geological engineer for Climax Molybdenum Company. For nearly 17 years thereafter, he excelled as a construction engineer and senior engineer with Barrick Gold Corporation. As a culmination of his expertise and experience, he established an independent firm in 2004 to provide engineering services to the mining industry while continuing to care for his family. Sacrison Engineering's primary service areas lay in engineering, construction management and project management, with proven success in mining, as well as hydrological, geological, environmental and maintenance engineering at surface and underground mines and plants both domestic and international.
In addition to his professional career, Mr. Sacrison has contributed as a member of the Marine Family Network, the Northeastern Nevada Autism Network and on the Elko County Natural Resources Management Advisory Commission – two years as Chair. The Elko County Art Club and the Elko County Republican Party are given regular attention. He is a member of the Nevada Mining Association and his involvement with the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration spans the length of his career.
