Amanda M. Glover Celebrated for Dedication to the Pharmaceutical Industry

Dr. Glover channels nearly 20 years of expertise into her role as the vice president of regulatory affairs for Rite Aid



    BOILING SPRINGS, PA, August 03, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Amanda M. Glover has been included in Marquis Who's Who. After completing a Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Rhode Island in 2002, Dr. Glover completed a Community Pharmacy Practice Residency fueling her passion for patient care. Throughout the course of her career, she gained valuable expertise in the field as a staff pharmacist with CVS and landing at Brooks Eckerd where she became an immunization trainer and had the opportunity to expand and develop their clinical programs. In 2006, Dr. Glover became the Manager of Pharmaceutical Care for Brooks Eckerd, where she actively led three direct reports and maintained responsibility for the development and success of their clinical program including but not limited to the medication therapy management, immunization, diabetes care, and smoking cessation programs.

When Rite Aid acquired Brooks Eckerd in 2007, Dr. Glover transitioned to a Manager of Field Clinical Services for Rite Aid where she managed similar programs. Through her work with Rite Aid, she was instrumental in passing legislation that would allow pharmacists to immunize in Maine and New York, as well as expanding the scope of immunization in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Rhode Island. Moreover, Dr. Glover frequently provided guidance for state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations, and created, reviewed and edited vital corporate and store communications and standard operating procedures.

Through her tenure with Rite Aid Dr. Glover has taken on roles with increasing responsibility to include Director of Pharmacy Operations where she continued to gain corporate experience overseeing store level standard operating procedures and programs vital to the day to day operations and became increasingly passionate about pharmacy regulatory compliance. This passionate focus and growing need in the industry lead to the development of a separate Regulatory Affairs department at Rite Aid of which Dr. Glover became the Vice President of in 2015. Early on in this role Dr. Glover effectively collaborated with Departments of Health, Boards of Pharmacy, and private physicians to establish protocols for pharmacists to dispense naloxone without a patient specific prescription, increasing access to the lifesaving drug in all states Rite Aid operates in.

Since 2015, Dr. Glover has overseen compliance with the Drug Enforcement Administration and state regulatory requirements, collaborated with Departments of Health, pharmacy boards and other governing agencies, led a growing dynamic team including Pharmacy Compliance, Quality Assurance, and Licensing, and leveraged data and analytics to identify opportunities and mitigate risk. Due to her vast breadth of knowledge, Dr. Glover has been featured as a speaker for a live webinar through Pharmacy Times regarding "The Impact of Substance Misuse During the COVID-19 Pandemic."

To remain aware of developments in the field, Dr. Glover maintains her affiliation with the National Association of State Controlled Substance Authorities, the National Association of Chain Drug Stores and several Rite Aid committees and subcommittees. For her outstanding body of work, she received the Excellence in Community Pharmacy Practice Award from CVS Pharmacy in 2002, the Merck Vaccine Service Award in 2010, certificate for outstanding service in response to 2009-2010 H1N1 flu pandemic in 2010, the Pharmacists Service Award through the Rhode Island Pharmacists Association in 2011 and multiple Associate of the Quarter recognitions through Rite Aid. Looking toward the future, Dr. Glover intends to continue advancing both her personal career and that of her profession while continuing to focus on patient health and safety and regulatory compliance.
