Mr. Roche enjoyed a fulfilling career in education that spanned nearly four decades.
Following his work as a professor of health, physical education and recreation at Monroe Community College in Rochester, New York, from 1964 until his retirement in 2000, he currently holds the title of professor emeritus. Adjacent to his main responsibilities in the field, Mr. Roche also held the position of coach for the swimming and golf teams.
Prior to his professional pursuits, Mr. Roche began his education at the State University of New York at Cortland in 1961. At this institution, he earned a Bachelor of Science in physical education and recreation, which inspired him to apply to Monroe Community College. In addition, Mr. Roche completed graduate-level coursework in education.
To commemorate his accomplishments, Mr. Roche has been inducted into the Coaches Hall of Fame at Monroe Community College, as well as the National Junior College Athletic Association Hall of Fame for golfing. In addition, he has been nominated as Coach of the Year eight times and Regional Coach of the Year three times. Mr. Roche's achievements in education and coaching have largely been driven by the motivation of his family, who have always supported him and encouraged his success.
