Well regarded as a leader in his community, Dr. Davis has earned distinction as a pastor of Mount Zion Baptist Church since 1981. In this capacity, he leads his congregation in prayer, visits the sick and assists members of his flock in securing educational scholarships, among many other services. Dr. Davis was initially ordained at Mount Zion Baptist Church in 1976.
Dr. Davis previously served in the U.S. Army for more than two decades, and retired in 1962 at the rank of a first sergeant. Following his departure from the military, he prepared for his role in ministry by pursuing an education at the International Bible Institute and Seminary, where he earned a Bachelor of Bible Theology in 1984. After graduating from Dr. Falwell College with a Master of Theology in 1969, he later obtained a Doctor of Divinity in 1986. Additionally, Dr. Davis undertook coursework at Lynchburg Bible College and Washington Baptist Seminary, where he found success as the student council president.
A representative of the 700 Club, a live television program produced by the Christian Broadcasting Network, Dr. Davis contributes to the Missionary Baptist Ministers Conference of Washington, D.C. In light of his exceptional undertakings, he was presented with the Word for Commission Award, as well as an award from Mayor Muriel Bowser for his community outreach in 2019. Throughout the course of his career, Dr. Davis is most proud to have led young people to embracing his Christian faith.
