Prior to embarking on her professional path, Ms. Clark obtained a Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2009. She subsequently excelled as an office manager and financial director with Shoulders of Strength, a mental health care organization providing services to children, adolescents and teenagers across the Northeast Louisiana region. Ms. Clark further prospered as a corporate office manager with CHASM, a premier architectural firm based in Atlanta.
Inspired by the tragic loss of a close childhood friend, Ms. Clark drew upon her childhood experiences and psychology degree to publish "I Am Me: A Journal of Positive Affirmations for Kids" in 2011. Notably, "I Am Me" is a book that promotes self-love, inspiration, and confidence for children between the ages of 4 to 11. Ms. Clark's journal includes five mindfulness exercises and 20 positive-thinking affirmations that will assist children in learning how to embrace their individual authenticity while encouraging children to acquire better problem-solving and coping skills.
In the coming years, Ms. Clark plans to publish three other books in what she hopes will become an "I Am Me" series. Among these publications include a book featuring positive affirmations for teenagers and two books directed specifically to people of color, "Dear Brown Girl" and "Dear Brown Boy." In these written works, Ms. Clark hopes to help youth deal with the direct impacts of racism and will feature ways of coping that include meditation and grounding.
