Mr. Tilley is a retired sea captain who devoted much of his career to the commercial seafood industry. A pioneer in the industry, Mr. Tilley played a major role in the success of the seafood industry throughout Washington, Alaska, the Bahamas, Russia and other international locations. He also became a widely recognized inventor who was responsible for creating a process for extracting the meat of the tanner crab that resulted in a new seafood market product. Since retiring in 2000, Mr. Tilley began writing. Chronicling the details of his life and career as a fisherman in his new book, titled "Ice & Fire: The Powerful true and Frightening Adventures of Survival in Alaska and the Aleutian Islands," the work was recently published in 2020 and is available on Amazon.
