Having served as the owner and manager for Henson-Holcomb Mortuary Inc. since his uncle passed in 2003, he manages such daily operations as funeral services and cremation. Mr. Holcomb's exemplary performance in the field was born of his academic journey. He first sought an education at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration. He also graduated from John A. Gupton School of Mortuary Science in 1969. He would later complete service in the United States Army between 1966 and 1968. Eminently qualified in his field, Mr. Holcomb has been licensed as a funeral director and in embalming.
A devoted volunteer within his local community, Mr. Holcomb serves as the treasurer for the Eighth Avenue Missionary Baptist Church. Furthermore, he has also been active with several industry related organizations, such as the Pine Bluff Wastewater Utility Commission, the Arkansas Funeral Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. Looking toward the future, Mr. Holcomb has begun to delegate certain responsibilities to his son, but has no plans to retire until he is unable to work.
