HAMDEN, CT, August 18, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Susan Xia has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Driven by a love of science, Dr. Xia earned a Doctor of Philosophy in material science from Oxford University in the mid-1980s. Following this accomplishment, she gained valuable expertise in the field and joined Northrop Grumman Corporation in 2003. Presently, Dr. Xia remains with the corporation as a senior principal engineer. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, she aligns herself with the ASM.

Alongside her work in the field, Dr. Xia gives back to her community by donating to the local animal shelter. Due to her outstanding accomplishments, she has been honored on several occasions, earning a National Science Foundation award in 1998 and a National Institutes of Health award in 1999. In a career that has been filled with highlights, she is most proud to have maintained the quality of her company's product, as well as challenging herself and reaching her goals. Looking toward the future, Dr. Xia intends to retire after more than 42 years of industry excellence.
