Lucy Kirk Recognized by Marquis Who's Who for Excellence in National Security and Literature

Ms. Kirk served as a case officer for the Central Intelligence Agency for over 30 years

NEW YORK, NY, August 18, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lucy Kirk has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in American history from Wellesley College, Ms. Kirk went on to earn a Master of Arts in international relations from the American University's School of International Service. She was subsequently recruited as a case officer into the Directorate of Operations for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), where she flourished throughout the following three decades. During this period, Ms. Kirk served in numerous field assignments, collected critical information from foreign and domestic sources and supervised regular intelligence briefings for several committees within the U.S. government.

Since her retirement from the CIA in 2003, Ms. Kirk has found further success as the author of "The Poison Factory – A Spy Novel" which was published in 2020. Set in London, the novel is closely based on her experience with many intelligence initiatives related to Russia. Ms. Kirk intends to adapt the novel into a television series and is currently composing a memoir that details her unique perspective as a woman in a predominantly male government agency.

Alongside her blossoming literary career, Ms. Kirk has excelled as a guest lecturer and instructor for various prestigious educational institutions such as Cornell University and Sarah Lawrence College since 2002. In recognition of her invaluable contributions to the CIA, she has received the agency's Certificate of Merit, as well as the Distinguished Service Award from the CIA's Office of Congressional Affairs. Ms. Kirk is proud to have been counted among the ten percent of females who were recruited into the CIA's Career Trainee Program in 1967. She reached a career milestone in 1989 when she was promoted to become a Chief of Station in the aforementioned Directorate of Operations, a position which only a handful of women had previously held.
