Born in Worthington, Minnesota, Ms. Hofstee initially studied at the Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis in 1972. She later obtained a Bachelor of Science in nursing at South Dakota State University in Brookings in 1996. She is also certified as a wound, ostomy and continence nurse and a registered nurse. Noting her achievements, she was presented with three awards from the Swedish Hospital at graduation for academics, talent, and excellence in nursing. A celebrated Marquis listee, Ms. Hofstee has been showcased in the fourth and fifth editions of Who's Who in American Nursing.
