COL (Ret) Vaughn E. Caudill Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army in 1973, COL Caudill spent 32 years (15 active 17 reserve) in the US Army Medical Department, advancing to colonel in 200 I and serving in Indiana, Alabama, Maryland, Texas, and other locations before concluding his military career in 2005. His civilian career was with the US Air Force Services Agency (15 years) and as Deputy Comptroller 502 CPTS, Joint Base San Antonio (9 years) which is the largest comptroller squadron in the Department of Defense. He also became a respected certified public accountant, garnering a reputation with the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Washington during the early 1980s. He later served as a comptroller with the U.S. Army Biomedical Research and Development Laboratory in Maryland and Chief MEPRS Branch Health Service Command. Furthermore, he enjoyed teaching as an adjunct professor of accounting at Webster University and as an accounting instructor at Vincennes University at Fort Benjamin Harrison and Frederick Community College in Maryland.

In 1996, COL Caudill authored a correspondence course, titled "Resource Management for the Army Medical Department Officers." It was an interesting and rewarding opportunity. Because of his military career, Mr. Caudill has enjoyed membership with several organizations, including the American Society of Military Comptrollers, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Silver Caduceus Association, Kentucky Colonel, Phi Kappa Phi, and the Military Officers Association of America.

Mr. Caudill received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration at Morehead State University in 1973 and 1975, respectively. He is a certified public accountant in Texas and Maryland and a Chartered Global Management Accountant through the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He passed all four parts of the CPA exam the first time with an 81 average. He holds several other professional certifications as well, including as a Certified Defense Financial Manager, Certified Data Processor, Certified Systems Professional and holds a commercial pilot's license.

Professionally, COL Caudill is active as a member of the American Society of Military Comptrollers. The organization honored him several times with a National Distinguished Performance Award for Education, Training and Professional Development, as an Alamo City Chapter Resource Manager of the Year, Outstanding Comptroller/Deputy Comptroller (2003 & 2010) and with a National Leadership Award. Mr. Caudill was National President of the American Institute of Certified Computer Professional.

Mr. Caudill was named to Men of Achievement and has been listed in several prominent biographical publications for his accomplishments, including the International Directory of Distinguished Leadership, 5,000 Personalities of the World, Personalities of America with a total of 17 biographical publications. Additionally, he was named Army Comptroller of the Year in 2004, inducted into the Morehead State University Hall of Fame in 2016, and named Outstanding Certified Public Accountant in Government Lifetime Contribution Award by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants in 2021. A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Caudill has been cited in the 251h edition of Who's Who in Finance and Industry and the second and third editions of Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
