To finish her institutional learning, Ms. Cavanagh attained a 7-12 certification in mathematics education from the same university in 1985.
Long dedicated to civic advocacy, Ms. Cavanagh serves as a chair to the Community Development Agency in Islip, as well as the president of the Central Islip Coalition of Good Neighbors. To commemorate her accomplishments, she has been bestowed with several accolades, including the Woman of the Year Award by the Town of Islip, the Woman's Woman Award by the Islip School District and the Good Neighbor Award from the Central Islip Civic Council.
