Mr. Miller retired from the South San Francisco Fire Department in 2008

DANVILLE, CA, August 25, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Glenn Miller has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Inspired to pursue athletics by his father, Mr. Miller began as a track star in high school. Following this accomplishment, he served as a pararescueman for the U.S. Air Force and as a staff sergeant for the Air Force Reserve. Upon leaving the military, he joined the South San Francisco Fire Department as a fire captain and received an associate degree in fire science from the College of San Mateo. Subsequently, Mr. Miller became certified as a fire officer in California and a licensed paramedic through Stanford University.

Before retiring in 2008, Mr. Miller gained valuable expertise in varying fields, working for the South County Fire Authority, as an examiner for the Department of Motor Vehicles and a fitness instructor for Peninsula Covenant Church Fitness Center and Menlo Masters. Moreover, he participated in the International Fire Games and the Annual California Fire Olympics. Alongside his work in the field, Mr. Miller also contributes to his community as a volunteer fitness instructor and as a fundraiser for various organizations.

Driven to remain aware of changes in the field, Mr. Miller aligns himself with the California Professional Firefighters, the International Association of Firefighters and the California Fire Chiefs Association. Due to his outstanding breadth of knowledge, he has been honored many times, earning a signed Letter of Recognition from President Richard Nixon and two California Fitness Firefighter Awards. Though his career has been filled with standout moments, he is most proud to have established the EMS fire transport system for the South San Francisco Fire Department. In the near future, Mr. Miller intends to remain as healthy as possible and be the best grandfather he can to his two grandchildren.
