He also was a carpenter for the company since 2005. Based in northern Illinois, the company's clients include numerous Fortune 500 businesses, including Hy-Vee, Ideal Industries and Monsanto/Bayer. In his capacity as the owner, Mr. Gehrke is notably responsible for serving as a contractor, estimator and project manager.
Aside from Mr. Gehrke's work at his construction contracting company, he excels as a cattle farmer. He sustainably raises grass-fed beef on his farm that he built and designed with his wife Christa and their 3 children. He sells grass-fed beef to individuals and businesses all over Northern Illinois. Additionally, Mr. Gehrke is a member of the local Chamber of Commerce and the Carpenters Union.
Mr. Gehrke began accruing experience in his field with an apprenticeship at Carpenters and Joiners Training Center that he completed in 2000. Thereafter, he earned a bachelor's degree in industrial technology, with a concentration in supervision from Northern Illinois University. Notably, his company won an award for Building of the Year from EPS Buildings in 2010. Looking toward the future, Mr. Gehrke seeks to double the size of his company.
