As a man who takes pride in hard work, dedication, and a strong work ethic, Mr. McLaughlin first completed coursework in public speaking and entrepreneurial classes at his local community college. In 2002, he earned a bachelor's degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. Prior to opening his first franchise, Michael was the Director of Inside Sales and Customer Service at a high-performance wire and cable company.
Mr. McLaughlin has established himself as a true entrepreneur as owner of two Pulp Juice and Smoothie Bar franchises, located in Willoughby and Madison, OH. As a lifelong Willoughby resident, Mr. McLaughlin opened his first Pulp franchise in Willoughby to do his part in bringing more business to a city he grew up in and remains devoted to. Michael has donated and contributed extensively to local baseball, softball, swim and other sports teams, and has worked closely with the Willoughby-Eastlake Board of Education; he is also an active volunteer with the Lake Humane Society & Adoption Center, and a member of the Willoughby Western Lake County Chamber of Commerce.
As a small business owner, Michael handles day-to-day operations and is tasked with ensuring that his younger employees develop useful skills to carry with them throughout their careers. He also does what some would consider the impossible: even during a pandemic that has filled many of us with uncertainty and fear, Michael makes people smile. He treats customers like family and is well known throughout the community as "Mr. Willoughby Pulp." He attributes his success to something we all need reminding of, and that's to never give up. Throughout many ups and downs throughout his career, McLaughlin maintained a positive attitude, a dedication to teamwork, and as a result has become a leader both at work and in his community. Mr. McLaughlin presently resides in Willoughby with his loving partner, Debbie, and his four exceptional stepchildren.
