CHETEK, WI, August 31, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Norman A. Phillips, PhD, has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
At just 16 years old, Dr. Phillips was introduced to the ministry. However, before taking the field to a professional level, he pursued other avenues in his career journey. To this end, he served in the Michigan Army National Guard and the United States Air Force before studying religion in college. Thereafter, he received a Bachelor of Science in religion, summa cum laude, from the Catholic Institution at Mount Senario College, a Master of Science in counseling from the University of Wisconsin, and a Doctor of Philosophy in biblical studies from the Newbury Seminary, which he obtained in 2002. Today, Mr. Phillips serves as pastor of Chetek Advent Christian Church in Chetek, Wisconsin.
Previously, Dr. Phillips served as pastor for the Jacksonville Advent Christian Church between 1975 and 1978 and was president of his local ministerial association. Today, he has reduced his involvement to meeting with various church elders at least once per week. He focuses on preparing individuals for the ministry in practical ways to become strong, successful leaders. Additionally, Dr. Phillips started a prayer breakfast 21 years ago, which is still in practice to the present day. Through this event, he is grateful to experience a level of unity among leaders from different denominations.
As a dedicated religious leader, Dr. Phillips has also worked in the counseling program at the University of Wisconsin and as president of the North Central Conferences in Wisconsin. He has also served in several churches throughout the State of Florida, as well as on the boards of several churches throughout his longstanding career. In the coming years, Dr. Phillips plans to share his experiences and expertise by writing a book.
