As an expert in appellate and environmental law, Ms. Wood has enjoyed a fulfilling career in the field of legal service. Presently, she has established herself as a private practice attorney and has also excelled as an administrative law judge with a state agency and the State Office of Administrative Hearings. Additionally, Ms. Wood found success as a staff attorney with the Third Court of Appeals.

Long interested in legal service and history, Ms. Wood obtained a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Texas at Austin, where she later received a Master of Arts in history. During the course of her studies, she began work on a doctorate, but ultimately decided that law school better fit her interests and strengths. Ms. Wood subsequently earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from St. Mary's School of Law in 1982.

Ms. Wood is proud to have held her positions as a staff attorney with the appellate court and master administrative law judge for the State Office of Administrative Hearings. She has maintained her memberships with the International Association of Women Judges and the National Association of Women Judges. In addition, she contributes as a board member to the Lawyer Referral Service of Austin, and is a former president of the Travis County Women Lawyers Association. Looking toward the future, Ms. Wood aims to travel to such countries as Norway, China, New Zealand, and Australia.
