Additionally, his firm provides virtual CEO, CFO, and CTO officers.

Presently working with approximately 40 different companies to ensure profitability, Dr. Ackerman is well-versed in various sectors, from non-profit and associations to pharmaceutical products and professional services such as law firms, real estate firms, water companies, and more. In addition to his work at The Adjuvancy, Dr. Ackerman has been the financial manager for Betty A Thompson Ltd, a boutique law firm in Rosslyn, Virginia from 2004 to 2020. He also serves on the Board of Directors for several firms in the Greater Washington DC region, including Industrial Microgenics, Ltd. in Charlottesville.

An experienced chemical engineer, Dr. Ackerman began his career with Tri-Flo Research Laboratories in Bellmore, New York in 1972. He then became a Senior Project Engineer for the Thetford Corporation in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1975. One year later, he was recruited by Applied Science Through Research and Engineering (ASTRE), where he rose to Director of Research and in Ann Arbor (MI) and Charlottesville (VA) to Technical Director in Charlottesville from 1981 to 1989. Among other roles, Dr. Ackerman served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Financial Officer for Kosher Depot from 2000 to 2014.

Dr. Ackerman is the author of several books, including the 1981 text, "Water Reuse and Recycle". He has also contributed an impressive 500 technical articles in his field. Civically, Dr. Ackerman was a parishioner and lay leader for Congregation Beth Israel in Charlottesville for 10 years between 1979 and 1989. Dr. Ackerman notably attended over three years of medical school. However, he transitioned into the study of water treatment. He later invented a water recycling system for home use, as well as for prepackaged car wash systems. Today, he holds several patents for the development of medical devices and pharmaceuticals, microbial products, and water treatment and reuse. In 1968, he invented a hemodialyzer and bicarbonate dialysate (which, once again, revolutionized dialysis in 1981).

To prepare for his career, Dr. Ackerman received a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of New York (now the New York University Tandon School of Engineering), where he was named the Samuel Ruben Scholar of Chemical Engineering. He continued his education by obtaining Scientific Masters (MS) and Doctors of Philosophy (Ph.D.). He also holds certification in both finance and Accounting.

To further support his career endeavors, Dr. Ackerman is a member of the Water Pollution Control Federation, the American Association of Small Research Companies, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the American Society for Microbiology, and the National Association of Enrolled Agents. He is also a member of Sigma Xi and Tau Beta Pi. A celebrated Marquis listee, he has been cited in over 35 editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Finance and Business, and Who's Who in Science and Engineering.
