CLINTON, TN, September 03, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kim Jeffers-Whitaker has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Driven to help others, Ms. Jeffers-Whitaker began her career in local government in Scott County, TN. Her human resources work began at the Scott County Department of Finance between 2004 and 2011. Over the years, she gained valuable expertise in the field as a coordinator for the 8th Judicial District Attorney General's Office Violent Crime and Drug Task Force Division. With over twenty years serving in a government environment, she moved to Anderson County, TN upon receiving a position with Anderson County Human Resources and Risk Management Department where she quickly become the deputy director of human resources and wellness coordinator. Drawing upon her vast government expertise, Ms. Jeffers-Whitaker excels with Anderson County as the Director of Human Resources and Risk Management.

An accomplished executive with a proven track record of success in human resources and risk management, Ms. Jeffers-Whitaker is required to cultivate business leader relationships by anticipating change, analyze the environment, act decisively and collaboratively, and affirm the value of positive change while streamlining human resources and risk management functions, reporting on their metrics, enhancing workforce retention, predicting staffing needs, managing termination processes, managing risk, ensuring staff wellness, and ensuring compliance regulations. Combining the human resources and risk management role her responsibilities are broad in scope and require leadership and independent judgment on issues that are complex, interpretive, and evaluative in nature. Outside of her primary responsibilities, Ms. Jeffers-Whitaker has had a lifetime of contributing to those less fortunate as a volunteer for various community programs such as veterans food drive, serving as the vice president and secretary of the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars, and participating with her children through the University of Tennessee Agriculture 4-H Program.

Throughout her career, Ms. Jeffers-Whitaker has earned several degrees and certifications that have built upon her considerable knowledge. In addition to an Associate of Science in business administration and management from Roane State Community College, she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bellevue University where she remained on the Dean's Scholars List as a single full-time working mom of two. She has also obtained a senior professional certification (SCP) in human resources, a certificate in effective workplace harassment through the Society for Human Resource Management, and Family Medical Leave Act compliance certification. She is also designated as an associate professional in human resources through the Human Resource Certificate Institute, recognized with a certificate from the Governor's Foundation for Health and Wellness and holds various State of Tennessee certifications. Ms. Jeffers-Whitaker also sits on the Fellowship and Publishing Committees for the International Professional Management Association for Human Resources Professionals.

Since becoming the Director of Human Resources and Risk Management, the department has seen an abundance of growth. As the customer service department for the County, they have witnessed partnership with executive collaborators triple; doubling of partnering with management on their recruiting, retainage and training efforts; and have quadrupled employee relations, confirming her goal in becoming an employee champion! By "being a good steward", she has also collaborated with officials to see a savings to County funds of over $3.1 million. Although her career has been filled with highlights, Ms. Jeffers-Whitaker is incredibly proud of assisting in the development of and remaining as the administrator of an on-site health and wellness clinic for the staff. Through the health and wellness program, the County has witnessed great savings to the self-insurance fund, while the employees annually see $70,000-$80,000 in savings through office and prescription copays. Additionally, the wellness portion of the onsite health and wellness center facilitates an annual health risk assessment. The projected savings is six figures, but more importantly multiple individuals have been discovered to have chronic related illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension and cancer. Due to early detection through the wellness program, all have been able to receive treatment and remain healthy – no monetary amount can be assigned to the continued life and health of those individuals and their families.

In the coming years, she intends to further improve the employee base and implement the needed transformations that are required to move the County forward through proactive and progressive measures by engaging employee relations, securing executive partnerships, and continuing strategic budget project management in the human resources and risk management fields. Ms. Jeffers-Whitaker is extremely passionate to bridge the gap between management and employees, and remaining as a change agent and partner that assists the organization in securing and maintaining a positive culture that sets the County apart.
