Mr. Moulin is a hospitality executive who has devoted his entire career to serving the industry. Currently with SH Hotels and Resorts, operating the famed 1 Hotel South Beach in Miami Beach, Florida, as General Manager, he brings with him a wealth of expertise. Before relocating to South Florida, he led the pre-opening considerations for the 1 Hotel and the opening of the 1 Homes in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, while concurrently operating Hacienda Beach Club and Residences, as Cluster Managing Director. Prior to joining SH, Moulin held positions with Aman Resorts as well as Los Angeles based sbe, notably Area General Manager/West Region and General Manager of the well-known luxury hotel, SLS at Beverly Hills, which is located in the posh town of Beverly Hills, California. Currently overseeing the operation at 1 Hotel South Beach, Mr. Moulin works diligently to ensure that every department is properly engaged and delivering quality customer service.
Throughout the course of his professional journey, Mr. Moulin has been involved in numerous hotel grand openings. He has also been tasked with the revival of hotels in distress. Despite the many challenges these opportunities have presented, he has successfully achieved all of his goals on time, with a solid record of accomplishment in meeting and exceeding company objectives. Crediting his good fortune to a combination of phenomenal organizational and communication skills, Mr. Moulin also surrounds himself with the right people for the job. Additionally, he remains flexible when it comes to acclimating to various cultures, having notably lived and worked in eight different countries during his illustrious career.
In a career suffused with highlights, Mr. Moulin is most proud to have reached his current position with 1 Hotel South Beach. Not only is it the largest hotel that he has ever managed, but it also houses the most volume of guests and generates the most revenue. Mr. Moulin has also particularly enjoyed the time he spent with SLS at Beverly Hills, which was a considerable turnaround project. Managed by Starwood Hotels and Resorts, he had come on board after the hotel had gone seven long months without a general manager overseeing the business. By creating a unique culture filled with incredible team members, he was able to increase its customer service rating, resulting in the hotel winning Best Guest Service Index with a rating of 9.84 by the end of his tenure at the property. The hotel also won Best Catering Production, Best Transient and Group Production, as well as Human Resources Best Practices.
A leader in his community, Mr. Moulin volunteered his time on the Board of Directors of the Hollywood Police Activities League (PAL) from 2012 to 2015. He also served as Treasurer during his last year with the non-profit organization. Other commitments to Mr. Moulin's credit have included organizing various community events for environmental sustainability purposes.
Mr. Moulin received a high school diploma in France. He subsequently received a Bachelor of Science at Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne in 2001, a renowned hospitality management school in Switzerland. During the span of his subsequent career, Mr. Moulin was featured in the Boston Business Review. Interviewed and published in the March 2021 edition, the article highlighted his career history and success in the industry. Previously, he was also featured in Luxury Travel Advisor in 2015 and was awarded "General Manager to Watch" by Hotel Management Magazine in 2013, for outstanding leadership.
