Ms. King currently excels as the Program Coordinator for Clemson University's YLI SNAP-Ed, a health education program that focuses on nutrition and physical activity.

Ms. King strives to help people access the best health possible in their daily lives. In college, she conducted extensive research on health data, such as the impact of daily physical education. Ms. King subsequently earned a Bachelor of Science in History and Health Science from Furman University and a Master of Public Health in Health Promotion, Education and Behavior from the University of South Carolina.
During her undergraduate studies, Ms. King completed an internship with ASH Scotland in Edinburgh and served as a lead student investigator for a study with the department of health sciences at Legacy Charter School in Greenville, South Carolina. Ms. King also worked as a research fellow for LiveWell Greenville, a graduate researcher at the Built Environment and Community Health (BEACH) Lab and a graduate assistant with Healthy Carolina at the University of South Carolina's Student Health Services.
Ms. King currently excels as the Program Coordinator for Clemson University's YLI SNAP-Ed, a health education program that focuses on nutrition and physical activity. In her current role, she helps to coordinate efforts to host health education classes in 16 counties throughout South Carolina. Once the classes are completed, she and her team of health educators and community health coordinators aim to develop sustainable changes in order to foster continued accessibility to nutritious food as well as affordable and safe spaces for physical activity. Ms. King also collaborates with various partners across the state to source funding and coordinate efforts that promote healthy nutrition and physical activity for all citizens within their designated counties.
On a daily basis, Ms. King participates in health coalition meetings, identifies grant and funding opportunities at the regional, state and national levels, and coordinates resources for the health education program. Throughout her career, she has been incredibly proud to receive the Master Student of the Year Award at the University of South Carolina.
In addition, Ms. King fondly recalls her efforts as the primary author of "Walkability 101: A Multi-Method Assessment of the Walkability at a University Campus," which was published by SAGE Open in 2020. As a respected voice in her field, she also co-authored several other publications throughout her research career. In 2021, Ms. King will be featured as a third author on "The Daily Physical Education Link to Higher Aerobic Fitness Levels: A Five-Year Longitudinal Study" in the Journal of Equity in Health.
Ms. King has attributed her professional success to her supportive friends and family. She has also been grateful for countless educational opportunities as well as the mentorship of various faculty and staff who connected her with valuable employment and research opportunities upon her graduation.
