Mendel D. Hill Recognized by Marquis Who's Who for Excellence in Administration

Mr. Hill has flourished with NASA, the FDA and in military research



Mr. Hill authored two books, "Two Americas, One Democracy" and "The Last Minority: Who Will It Be?"

    ARLINGTON, VA, September 09, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mendel D. Hill has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Hill obtained a Bachelor of Science in political science from American University in Washington, D.C., and continued his education with a Master of Arts in management from Claremont Graduate University in California. Prior to his academic success, Mr. Hill achieved the rank of 1st lieutenant of artillery in the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army.

After initially desiring a legal career, Mr. Hill was hired upon his graduation from American University by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) where he prospered as a contract negotiator during NASA's moon exploration era. Subsequently, Mr. Hill managed Department of Health and Human Resources Food and Drug Administration (FDA) efficacy projects and implemented Congressionally-approved citywide infrastructural upgrade programs for the Washington city government. In this position, he successfully challenged illegal contracting practices and expanded job opportunities for qualified Black applicants.

From 1981 to 1983, Mr. Hill directed a $300 million federal court-ordered housing construction program in Los Angeles, California. Beginning in 1983, he found success for the next eleven years with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory at the California University of Technology (Caltech) in Pasadena, where he aided in military research projects and served in Washington for three years as the first business manager for NASA's International Space Station. Mr. Hill subsequently retuned to the FDA from 1995 to 2004 to assist on the agency's AIDS research program.

After his retirement in 2004, Mr. Hill authored two books, "Two Americas, One Democracy" and "The Last Minority: Who Will It Be?" He attributes his success to his quick grasp of new ideas and his hardworking attitude. Mr. Hill plans on enjoying his retirement in the coming years.
