Thomas D. Carver Recognized by Marquis Who's Who for Excellence as a Defense Attorney

Mr. Carver has represented clients for nearly 50 years in Missouri

He considers his most important career highlights to be acquiring acquittals or dismissals in two cases that involved the death penalty.

SPRINGFIELD, MO, September 10, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Thomas D. Carver has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Carver obtained a Bachelor of Science in political science from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville in 1970 and continued his education with a Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law in 1973. He was admitted to practice by the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri in 1973, as well as both the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit in 1987. Additionally, he has practiced in all Missouri courts and the U.S. Supreme Court Bar since 1993.

Mr. Carver founded Thomas Carver Law in 1973 and enjoyed his own practice until 2007. From that year until 2015, he provided superior service as a criminal defense attorney as a partner of Carver, Cantin and Grantham and then Carver, Cantin & Mynarich until 2021, when he created Carver & Associates. In over 45 years, he has represented more than 400 clients in federal cases, including individuals charged with capital murder, as well as thousands in the Missouri state courts. During his practice, he has also defended those accused of white-collar crimes, drug conspiracies, sex crimes and criminal tax matters. He has also provided substantial pro bono work over the years.

Mr. Carver served as president of the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers from 2001 to 2002, on the board of directors of the Springfield Missouri Bar Foundation and the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association from 2015 to the present. He holds an AV-Preeminent rating, the highest possible, from Martindale-Hubbell, the oldest and most respected lawyer rating service in the United States. In addition, he has been awarded the Robert Duncan Award for Appellate Excellence from the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Bernard Edelman Tradition Award for mentoring young lawyers with an interest in criminal defense, and has been an annual award recipient from Missouri Kansas Super Lawyers in every year since 2010.

According to Mr. Carver, he became involved in his profession because he was inspired by his father, who was also a lawyer as well as a judge, and because he had a desire for political involvement since childhood. He considers his most important career highlights to be acquiring acquittals or dismissals in two cases that involved the death penalty.
