An expert in international financial and marketing awareness, Ms. Szprejda is renowned for her talent and expertise as a marketing professional for many years. Having since retired as president of Pacific International Marketing Systems (formerly Global Market Resources), she also held various other leading roles as Manager for IXI World Trade Corporation, and as Director of Planning and New Program Development for FIRST International Corporation. Additionally, Ms. Szprejda lent her expertise as an export consultant for clients and as an instructor for the University of St. Thomas (St. Paul, MN). Her early professional career was gained in several administrative roles, including for the International Division of First National Bank of Minneapolis where she was exposed to European international banking efforts as the organization's executive administrator to the Director, and for Medtronic, Inc. where she worked closely with its Japanese operation and became familiar with the Far East marketplace.
In retirement, Ms. Szprejda will be focusing more of her efforts on philanthropy. She is actively working on several investment programs, one of which may be in the areas of hydroponics and aquaponics. Growing up on a small farm in Wisconsin, she is aware of the wasted agricultural efforts being performed today. Her team will be conducting research to improve those efforts. Other efforts will include a foundation to fund the humanitarian causes, such as innovative homeless programs.
Civically, Mrs. Szprejda has enjoyed membership with the World Time Capsule Fund, several world trade committees with the Minneapolis and St. Paul Chamber of Commerce, and the Minnesota Governor's Task Force on International Business Education.
Ms. Szprejda first studied at the University of Wisconsin and the University of Minnesota before earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration at the University of St. Thomas in 1980, followed by Master of Business Administration coursework on the campus from 1987 to 1988. Aligning herself as a member of several professional organizations in support of her career, Ms. Szprejda is a member, past president and former member of the Minnesota World Trade Association. She has also served as a member and former secretary of the Japan America Society of Minnesota, a member of the International Advertising Association, and the American Marketing Association.
In 1980, Ms. Szprejda received a Business Woman Leader Award by the Young Men's Christian Association (more commonly known as the YMCA). A celebrated Marquis listee, she has been cited in the 20th and 21" editions of Who's Who in the Midwest, the 14th and 16th editions of Who's Who of American Woman and the first edition of Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
