ATLANTA, GA, September 15, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Didier Guillaume has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Hailing from a long line of medical professionals, Dr. Guillaume was greatly inspired to pursue a career in healthcare by three successive generations of cardiologists on his paternal side. Motivated by a particularly pleasant experience at a dentist's office at the age of 12, his passion continued to grow over the years. While he was simultaneously majoring in biology, he maintained a Division 1 track scholarship from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County College of Natural and Mathematical Sciences, and earned early admission into Dental School. Though he initially wanted to become a dental surgeon, he soon discovered that he had a talent for performing complicated dental procedures and ventured into the prosthodontics program. Dr. Guillaume eventually obtained a Doctor of Dental Medicine in advanced dentistry and oral science from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, now known as the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Guillaume was the first Black student to finish at the top of the prosthodontics program, becoming 1 of 3 practicing African American prosthodontists in the U.S.
In his career, Dr. Guillaume worked as a dental assistant at Atlantic Dental Center, a general and pediatric dentist at Gentle Family Dental and a prosthodontist at Nanston Dental Group in Corporate Square. He also served as a prosthodontist at the Goldstein Center for Aesthetic and Implant Dentistry before founding Astoria Dentistry LLC. Dr. Guillaume has excelled as a practicing prosthodontist since 1999, and now co-owns two practices along with his wife.
In addition to his primary professional endeavors, Dr. Guillaume was appointed as the co-chairman of the implant board of Nanston Inc. As a respected voice in his field, he has appeared on several television programs and stations, including a health segment on Good Day Atlanta on WPIX-NBC. Dr. Guillaume also often appears as a special correspondent on WSB-TV Channel 2, and he previously co-authored "Resistance to Crown Displacement on a Hexagonal Implant Abutment," which was published in Implant Dentistry.
As an accomplished professional, Dr. Guillaume has been recognized as Atlanta's Best Dentist for four consecutive years. For his exemplary efforts in his career, he was also presented with the ACP Award for Excellence in Prosthodontics. Likewise, Dr. Guillaume was inducted into the Gamma Pi Delta Prosthodontic Honors Society.
Civically, Dr. Guillaume has been active in his community with the Ryan Cameron Foundation, Kiwanis Service Organization, the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, Kings County Hospital, the Liberty Science Center Youth Day, Alzheimer Association, Georgia Chapter, Back Zoo Youth Day and the Champions Banquet Fundraiser. He also organized a screening day at First Methodist Church. Furthermore, Dr. Guillaume was selected as the official dentist of the Chick-fil-A Bowl Game.
Throughout his career, Dr. Guillaume has attributed his professional success to the personal relationships that he cultivates with his patients. As a result, his business is based mainly on referrals. In turn this allows Dr. Guillaume the time to center his attention on the main tenet of the practice, that being providing elite cutting-edge dentistry and personal individualized care to each patient. Looking toward the future, Dr. Guillaume plans to continue building the brand of Astoria Dentistry as an excellent provider of dental services.
