Mr. Stanbery has garnered nearly a decade of professional experience in law. In 2012, he was admitted to practice before the Washington State Bar Association. He began his career as a workers' compensation adjudicator for the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries. From 2015 to 2017, Mr. Stanbery excelled as a subrogation specialist in the crime victims compensation program for the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries.
Since 2017, Mr. Stanbery has flourished as the supervisor of the special claims unit in the crime victims compensation program for the aforementioned department. In this role, he obtains financial recovery of benefits and applies the money towards funding future claims for future victims in the unit. Likewise, he helps injured workers return to their jobs or finds proper treatment for them. Mr. Stanbery attributes his success to an eagerness to learn new things as well as his inspirational and supportive family.
Mr. Stanbery is an active member of the Washington Federation of State Employees and the American Bar Association. Having always harbored an interest in law, he obtained a bachelor's degree in political science and government from Pacific Lutheran University in 2004. Subsequently, he earned a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School. In 2020, he was notably able to recover nearly $2 million from cases, which he considers to be his most gratifying achievement thus far. In the future, Mr. Stanbery hopes to continue helping his current program grow and is considering becoming a program manager.
