Marquis Who's Who Honors David Arthur Nation with Inclusion in Who's Who in the World

Mr. Nation celebrates more than 40 years in computer science and 50 years as a dedicated artist and sculptor.

CEDAR FALLS, IA, September 17, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to honor David Arthur Nation with inclusion in Who's Who in the World. An accomplished listee, Mr. Nation celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

After taking an art course in high school, Mr. Nation began a lifelong interest in sculpture. He went on to study architecture, mathematics, art and psychology in college and eventually settled on Iowa State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science as part of their first graduating class in computer science. He also received a Master of Science in computer science with honors from Johns Hopkins University and studied at the Maryland Institute College of Art. Mr. Nation worked as a computer scientist for the U.S. government and retired with 30 years of cryptologic service. He then spent more than a decade as a computer systems engineer at NCI Information Systems.

As a respected professional in his field, Mr. Nation holds five patents on software products he developed, demonstrating his expertise in information visualization, mapping and pattern classification. As an artist, he has exhibited his sculpture in various locations, and featured prominently during solo shows, including the "Bay Country Art Guild Member Show", an exhibit at his place of employment and his online "Dave Nation's Art Gallery". Mr. Nation's sculptures have also been exhibited at resident juried art shows at Riderwood Village in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Throughout the span of his career, Mr. Nation has attributed his professional success to the work ethic he developed from growing up on a farm in Iowa. Presently, he maintains his professional and civic affiliation with the Unitarian Universalist Church, SAG-AFTRA, the Sons of the American Revolution and the Hearst Center for the Arts. Looking toward the future, Mr. Nation plans to retire and focus on local initiatives. He continues to create sculpture using local studio space.
