CORTLAND, NY, September 22, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Roderick Angell has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Before venturing onto his vocational path, Mr. Angell obtained an Associate of Arts and Sciences in business administration and management from Tompkins Cortland Community College in 1997. Following this accomplishment, he attended Binghamton University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in business, management, marketing and related support services in 2000.
From 2001 to 2004, Mr. Angell prospered as a department manager with K Mart, where he oversaw the sporting goods department and ensured that proper inventory was available on an annual basis. With Lowe's Home Improvement from 2004 to 2010, he provided superior service as a receiving clerk and was responsible for the overall editing of all receiving documents, while making sure shortages and damages were reported to the vendor. From 2012 onward, Mr. Angell served as a pricing signage coordinator, and determined whether proper catalogs and price points were on display.
Turning his attention to the healthcare field, Mr. Angell earned an Associate of Arts and Sciences in health information and medical records technology from Onondaga Community College in 2014, with a grade point average of 4.0. He subsequently obtained a Bachelor of Professional Sciences in health information management, summa cum laude, from the State University of New York Polytechnic Institute in Utica in 2018. Mr. Angell holds Registered Health Information Administrator certification. He is a member of the American and New York State Health Information Management Associations.
Since 2014, Mr. Angell has made an impact as an outpatient coder with Guthrie Cortland Medical Center. He is responsible for working on denials from insurance companies for the laboratory outpatient accounts. He also assigns ICD-10 diagnosis and CPT procedure codes to all Wound Care accounts for Guthrie Cortland Medical Center. Mr. Angell also assigns codes and procedures to emergency room accounts and various small procedure accounts.
Mr. Angell first became involved in healthcare out of a desire to expand his knowledge and exit the field of retail. In a career suffused with highlights, he is most proud to have graduated, with honors, with a bachelor's degree in health information management. In the coming years, Mr. Angell hopes to reach a management position and serve as a role model for others.
