Anna Yeung Mayo Celebrated for Dedication to the Fields of Information Technology and Workers' Rights

Ms. Mayo works tirelessly for workers' rights through the SEIU Local 1000 Union

SACRAMENTO, CA, September 22, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Anna Yeung Mayo has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Driven to make a name for herself in a male-dominated field, Ms. Mayo excels as an information technology specialist and consultant for the California Department of Consumer Affairs. During her tenure with the department, she has been elected as one of the DLC 781 SEIU Local 1000 Union's 10 delegates to be elected to their international and general councils for six consecutive years. Dedicated to workers' rights, she has worked tirelessly in several roles for the Local 1000 Union, including vice president/chief steward, secretary, treasurer, women's committee member, Asian Pacific Islander Committee board member and member of the IT reclassification bargaining team.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Mayo was a devoted patron of the arts, serving as the producer and chief executive officer of the Finest Asian Performing Arts Festival, which received awards through the Sacramento Arts Council and the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission for more than one decade. Through the festival, she helped shine light on Far Eastern cultures and music, promoted local and international high-ranking artists, and had the honor of presenting grants and awards in traditional instrumental Asian music, as well as opera and folk music. Before fostering her love of music and establishing herself in a male-dominated industry, she served in the U.S. Air Force as a medic for more than 20 years, during which time she founded the first U.S. Medical Library at Mather Air Force Base and completed an assignment for the U.S. Air Force's Operation Desert Shield.

Before embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Mayo earned a Bachelor of Arts from San Francisco State University. Subsequently, she completed coursework at the University of California Berkeley and a Master of Arts in Asian art through the University of the Pacific. Outside of her work, she frequently volunteers with her local church, giving back to the homeless population through a program she developed. Due to her medical background, she also volunteers with the University of California Medical Centers in San Francisco and Sacramento. In recognition of her outstanding accomplishments, she received a Special Award through the Voluntary Bureau for her dedication to nonprofit organizations, as well as an award through the Department of the Army. In the near future, Ms. Mayo intends to continue helping her church and further dedicate herself to the performing arts.
