Mrs. Clements has been recognized on several occasions, earning the Texas A&M University 'Always Expect More of Aggie Teachers' Award.
BOERNE, TX, September 22, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Janna Clements has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Although her parents were both educators, Mrs. Clements was originally intent on pursuing a different path. As a senior in high school, she organized a tutoring partnership between high school students and low-performing students at a local elementary school. Around that time, however, her mother was diagnosed with cancer. After her passing, Mrs. Clements realized that, despite her original intent, she was meant to follow her mother's example and became an educator.
While pursuing a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies, with a minor in philosophy, from Texas A&M University, Mrs. Clements gained valuable expertise in the field with Sam Rayburn Middle School, where she directed guided reading groups through individualized lessons. She also served at Texas A&M University's English Language Institute, through which she facilitated discussions in English with international college-aged and adult students. Additionally, Mrs. Clements taught English at Cypress Grove Intermediate School, A&M Consolidated High School and Sam Houston Elementary School before returning to Sam Rayburn Middle School.
Upon graduating, Mrs. Clements worked with Arthur L. Davila Middle School, where she provided small group English and reading interventions for sixth grade students and taught history, and Boerne Middle School South. Drawing on her considerable knowledge, she excels today as a teacher with Captain Mark Tyler Voss Middle School. In her current role, Mrs. Clements teaches sixth and seventh grade social studies and student leadership while ensuring that her classroom lessons tie into real-life settings.
Driven to remain aware of changes in the field, Mrs. Clements is currently pursuing a Master of Education in professional school counseling at Lamar University and remains aligned with the Texas Council for Social Studies and the Association of Texas Professional Educators. Outside of her work, she contributes to her community as a volunteer with YoungLife, through which she coordinates and leads WyldLife events and camps for middle school students and the Texas Council for Social Studies, where she is a committee member.
In light of her outstanding body of work, Mrs. Clements has been recognized on several occasions, earning the Texas A&M University 'Always Expect More of Aggie Teachers' Award; she was one of five student teachers out of 300 to receive the award. Over the course of the following years, she was also honored as the Rookie Teacher of the Year through Davila Middle School, the Teacher Spotlight Winner at Boerne Middle School South, the Teacher of the Year Award from Captain Mark T. Voss Middle School, the Boerne ISD Teacher of the Year Award and as the KENS5 Credit Human Excel Award Winner. In the near future, Mrs. Clements intends to experience the continued growth and success of her career as an educator.
