NEW ORLEANS, LA, September 24, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jon Lyndon Renthrope, Brewmaster, CEO, has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Renthrope is a married father who was born and currently resides in New Orleans, Louisiana. He has excelled with the Cajun Fire Brewing Company serving as chief executive officer since 2011. A successful family-owned brewing company headquartered in New Orleans, the Cajun Fire Brewing Company is recognized as the first Black and Native American owned brewing company in Louisiana history and as the fifth Black-owned brewing company in all of the United States. Inspired to establish his brewery due to his interest in producing a world-class beverage, he also seized the opportunity to address equitable economic development throughout the community. Mr. Renthrope is a tribal member of the United Nation of Houma Indians, an indigenous tribe native to southern Louisiana who have close ties to the water and land of their ancestors. Notably, Mr. Renthrope compares his life experiences to the story of the theologian Saint Augustine of Hippo.

Cajun Fire Brewing Company has notably raised over $700,000 for various local philanthropies and non-profit organizations. Mr. Renthrope's company is also investing in The New Orleans East Cultural Hub, a substantial 10-acre commercial development project that will create a multitude of jobs and serve as catalytic business incubator and manufacturing base to help the community to thrive.
Mr. Renthrope was formerly active as a project director for Bridge Forest Investment Corporation. He also worked for Capital One, Imperial Trading and several other organizations in previous years. Additionally, Mr. Renthrope had the pleasure of working at his alma mater, the University of Florida, as an entrepreneurship teacher.
Mr. Renthrope was also appointed as a board member for the 100 Black Men of Metro New Orleans Inc. The organization likewise focuses on empowering its challenged community members by way of educational mentorship and providing economic resources. Mr. Renthrope further participates on the board of the two other organizations that focus on social justice and economic development, the See Change Collective, which is a business enterprise that serves as a catalyst for change in closing racial wealth gaps and building wealth for marginalized communities, and the New Orleans East Matters Coalition.
An alumnus of the University of Florida, Mr. Renthrope earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science in 2010. He later obtained a master's degree in community development finance in 2018 from the University of New Orleans. A member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., Mr. Renthrope was honored among the 40 Under 40 by the University of Florida.
