Brian Jueneman, PMP, has been Inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry

Mr. Jueneman uses his analytical, engineering mind to excel in engineering technology

LINCOLN, NE, September 29, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Brian Jueneman has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Growing up in Northeastern Kansas, Mr. Jueneman worked in the family soil conservation and commercial grading business. Summers and Saturdays were spent operating all types of heavy equipment. He says, "as a youngster, you cut your teeth on sheepsfoot rollers and water wagons, then you graduated to scrapers and dozers". On many occasions, he observed his father reviewing and discussing the various drawings and reading survey stakes. These engineering designs and drawings were the initial spark… "there was another facet to the process that I wanted to learn more about. I had always been wired to think like an engineer and I enjoyed building things, but it was the planning and thought behind it, the reason why… that intrigued me." This initially sparked Brian's interest in the field, and when he was preparing for college, he desired to pursue a computer-focused profession. Back then, desktop computers weren't much more than word processors, but he knew he wanted them (computers) to be in his future. During a college visit, he learned about computer aided drafting & design (CADD), to which he was automatically drawn. CADD was an exciting new thing, it enabled a level of precision drafting and design and utilized desktop computers in a whole new way.

Mr. Jueneman went on to receive his degree in Engineering Technology and in 1993, began his career as a CADD technician at Olsson, a consulting engineering firm in Lincoln, NE in the transportation department. His role with Olsson grew and over the course of 30 years, has served in numerous roles from Technician and Roadway Designer to Project Manager. He remained with the transportation department at Olsson for almost 20 years, then in 2012, he took over management of the Construction Administration Department at Olsson. "Things went full circle for me, I left the heavy highway industry for a desk job and have since returned to my roots, so to speak, working on infrastructure projects, but in another unique way". His current role allows him to continue working for the same client base, while getting projects successfully to the finish line.

Throughout his career, Mr. Jueneman has strived to maintain involvement on projects from cradle to grave. On one large project, he worked on many different infrastructure aspects including flood control, community re-development, public and private utility relocation, roadway & streets, bridges, traffic signals, traffic control management, pedestrian facilities and public involvement. The project involved an urban waterway that was prone to flooding after minor rainfall. The creek was actually routed into an underground conduit and had resulted in a significant number of properties being in the flood plain including parts of the University of Nebraska campus. The project consisted of building a much larger open channel for water flow and storage with park and trail amenities, adjacent to the channel; a major 6-lane transportation facility was built to route traffic around the University of Nebraska campus. The project also required a massive public involvement effort. Brian recalled his time spent preparing alternatives during the study phase, the long hours worked during design and working with the contractors during the construction phase. Seeing things all come together and being engaged on the project down to the smallest details was inspiring. In all, Brian had spent over 14 years working on various aspects of this once in a career type of project.

In addition to managing his staff and his projects, Mr. Jueneman assists with many leadership and mentoring programs at Olsson. He maintains the Certification of Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI), has served as a committee member with the Nebraska American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), is a longtime member of the Lincoln Engineers Club, and a founding member and treasurer for the Nebraska User Group as well as holds many other industry specific certifications.

Brian has been married for 19 years and has 3 children (ages 16, 13 & 10). In the coming years, he plans to continue providing high levels of client service for his public and private clients in and around the Lincoln area while assisting the many industry partners with building quality infrastructure that will last. As his succession plan unfolds, he wants to focus more on the development and mentoring of other staff for design, construction administration and leadership roles within Olsson and transition his management position to ease into a well-deserved retirement.
