As the only female-owned and operated aviation school in the area, Mrs. Wilson established AeroStar with a small office and just three to six students per month. She currently has approximately 90+ students per month, as well as 20 employees and several subcontractors.
Offering world-class airline pilot certification and endorsement programs, AeroStar provides computer-based and classroom training, as well as two FAA certified Level D state of the art multimillion dollar flight simulators, a fleet of airplanes, and other advanced educational tools to support student flight training. AeroStar also offers Aircraft and Simulator Maintenance, Airline or Charter Management Services and is notably a Federal Aviation Administration certified 141 and 142 Training Center. Meanwhile, Spectrum Aero Maintenance Services, which is located at the Kissimmee Gateway Airport, delivers expert Aircraft Maintenance Services to clients for various types of aircraft and jets, including routine and non-routine inspections, major repairs and alterations and modifications.
As part of her commitments as a business owner, Mrs. Wilson must complete random department checks to ensure quality compliance. She also meets with various airline owners and collaborates with her team mates on a daily basis. Additionally, she is actively engaged in growing both businesses through a variety of strategies. She is currently expanding her master plan to be able to advance students from holding a FAA Private Pilot Licenses to flying Airbus or Boeing Jets all at one location. Mrs. Wilson is also in the process of building her Flight Training Campus to total 33,000 square feet of space that will house several classes, administration offices, Flight Simulators, and Aircraft Maintenance.
Prior to becoming a business owner, Mrs. Wilson worked for Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne as the Director of Business Development. She also worked at several other flight schools at the Kissimmee Gateway Airport, which is where she initially became passionate about airplanes and the idea of meeting people from various backgrounds and cultures. Contributing to her local animal shelter, she has also been involved with Girls in Aviation Day with her local Chapter. To support her career, Mrs. Wilson is a member of Women in Aviation and has provided hundreds of thousands of scholarships over the years to women in aviation looking to achieve their flying dream.
Recognizing Mrs. Wilson's achievements, she received the Edward Lowe Award from GrowFL in 2019. Mrs. Wilson was also featured in Orlando Magazine as one of the Faces of Orlando.
