Having begun her career in 2013, Ms. Olagunju is the assistant project manager at Environmental Design International Inc. She initially started as a food safety assistant at the Premier Hotel in Nigeria. Thereafter, she worked as a safety assistant, graduate assistant and environmental scientist. Additionally, Ms. Olagunju garnered experience in environmental health and safety at the Saint Clair County Health Department in Belleville, Illinois.
Ms. Olagunju's area of expertise resides in the assessment of indoor and outdoor air quality, ambient air, manufactured gas plants, remediation and asbestos. Among her responsibilities, she routinely meets with clients, writes and executes proposals, conducts valuations and on-site inspections, and consults on asbestos and mold for clients. Ms. Olagunju has received various certifications from the Illinois Department of Public Health and is licensed in environmental sampling in the states of Illinois, Michigan, Indiana and Ohio.
Ms. Olagunju is a proud member of the National Environmental Health Association, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
Among her accomplishments, Ms. Olagunju is proud to have received a research grant while studying at Southern Illinois University, from which she also obtained a Master of Science in environmental science. She earned a Bachelor of Science in wildlife and ecotourism management from the University of Ibadan in Nigeria. Aside from her primary vocational pursuits, she has volunteered in conservation education for the National Park Service since 2012. Ms. Olagunju attributes her success to resilience, as well as a deep and abiding passion for the environment.
