Prior to entering the field, Mr. Schmidt's brother worked for John Flake, a family friend and renowned name in the state. Following this mentorship, his brother began his career, which inspired him to pursue a similar path. Upon earning a Bachelor of Arts in marketing and management from the University of Mississippi in 2014, he initially worked as a broker with John Flake at Flake & Kelley Commercial. Mr. Schmidt currently channels his considerable expertise into his work as a co-founding member and partner in his new venture, Flake & Company, a full-service brokerage and property management firm. Mr. Schmidt has since found tremendous success in the commercial real estate business.
In his dual roles with the aforementioned organizations, Mr. Schmidt provides a variety of services, including development, management, buyer representation, landlord representation, investments and financing assistance, and also manages daily operations of the firm. Driven to remain aware of developments in his area of expertise, he is affiliated with the Arkansas State Board of Commerce. Outside of his primary responsibilities, Mr. Schmidt contributes to others through the Arkansas Outdoor Society and the Alzheimer's Association.
For his professional achievements, Mr. Schmidt was recognized in and an honoree of Arkansas Business' 20 in their 20's 2018 edition, and honored in the Future 50 through Arkansas Money and Politics in 2020. Although his career has been filled with highlights, he is incredibly proud of breaking out on his own to do what he is currently doing. Looking toward the future, Mr. Schmidt aims to manage and continue to develop a large footprint across Arkansas and the surrounding states while continuing to increase the number of clients at Flake & Company.
