Michelle Simmons has been Inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry

Ms. Simmons is a dedicated minister focused on serving formerly incarcerated women

    PHILADELPHIA, PA, October 01, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Michelle Simmons has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

After earning a bachelor's degree in human services from Chestnut Hill College in 2008, Ms. Simmons obtained a master's in clinical and counseling psychology in 2010. She subsequently graduated with a doctorate in ministry from Friends International Christian University in 2016. Ms. Simmons currently excels as the founding and executive director of Why Not Prosper Inc., a grassroots 501(c)(3) organization that and supports and advocates for formerly incarcerated women.

Ms. Simmons has been affiliated with a multitude of organizations, including Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, the Pennsylvania Prison Society, the American Psychological Association, the North American Association of Coaches and Counselors and the National Council for Black Women. She has also been a member of the Mental Health Counselors Association and the National Association for Recovery Residences. A contributor to Operation Blessings, Ms. Simmons is active as the overseer of foreign services admissions for Divine Connections and Ministries of Churches.

Throughout her impressive career, Ms. Simmons has received several accolades. She has been notably recognized as the Professional of the Year by the Pennsylvania Certification Board. She was also presented with the Dorothy Height Award from the Mayor's Office in Philadelphia, and a mural was created in honor of Rev. Dr. Michelle Simmons. It is located on 21st and Market Street in Philadelphia. Ms. Simmons considers her most shining achievement being pardoned by the Governor of Pennsylvania in 2016, which has enabled her to dedicate her time and resources to helping other previously incarcerated women.
