TALLAHASSEE, FL, October 01, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Irene Y. Gaines has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

In the years since her youth, Dr. Gaines has been interested in the field of education, believing that in order to make the world a better place, she "had to start with children." She subsequently pursued an education at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, from which she obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education in 1972, a Master of Science in Elementary Education in 1984, and a PhD in Educational Leadership in 2009. In addition, Dr. Gaines holds a graduate certification in Administration and Supervision from Florida State University.

From 1972 to 1993, Dr. Gaines excelled as a classroom teacher with the Gadsden and Leon County Schools in Quincy and Tallahassee, and furthered her educational career as an Assistant Principal and Principal for the Leon County Schools from 1993 to 2001. Since 2008, she has found success as a consultant, chief executive officer and president of Success By Design, an educational training and coaching organization. Since 2009, Dr. Gaines has flourished with the external review team with AdvancED School Accreditation and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, a firm whose mission is to discover innovative ways to enhance academic achievement and improvement in schools and school systems through vigorous standards and processes.

Dr. Gaines has accrued many honors during her career, including an Outstanding Educator Award from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, the Ida S. Baker Distinguished Minority Educator Award from the Leon County Schools, and a Leadership Award from the American Association of School Administrators. She attributes her success to dedicating her time to teaching her students so that she can help them advance in life and recalls the occasion when a 35-year-old former kindergarten student of hers fondly recalled when she had him in her class. In the coming years, Dr. Gaines is hoping for continued success with her consultancy and looks forward to a well-deserved retirement.
