Annette Marie Branche Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Nonprofit Management

Ms. Branche offers children a safe space as founder of The Uptown Neighbors United



Throughout her career, Ms. Branche has consistently been recognized for making a difference in the lives of others, as well as her community at large.

    HARRISBURG, PA, October 05, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Annette Marie Branche has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

While maintaining 165 acres of cemetery land and supervising 35 staff members as director of Maryland National Memorial Park for 4 years between 1978 and 1988, Ms. Branche established WACUP, Inc., in 1986, where she has organized churches and other civic organizations to combat unethical burial practices. Due to her expertise in the field of cemetery services, she authored Edition 1 "Warnings Against Cemeteries: Unfair Practices." Additionally, she has conducted pre-arrangement seminars as president of the Tor Bryan Estates Home Owners Civic Association, developed the Tor Bryan Estates Community Park in 1974, and founded an after-school tutorial program, as well as an active homeowners' civic association.

Over the years, Ms. Branche has also furthered her industry knowledge by completing an Associate of Arts in Hotel and Restaurant Management and an Associate of Arts in the Culinary Arts from Harrisburg Area Community College, both in 2005 at age 65. Backed by her extensive and varied industry experience, she founded The Uptown Neighbors United in her retirement. Through The Uptown Neighbors United, a nonprofit organization she established in 2005 and was honored by the Mayor of Harrisburg, PA a Annette Branches' Day, and given the key to the city, she provides summer programs for children and allows them to explore their environments and thoughts in a safe space, while also including parents in the process. To remain abreast of changes in the field, she aligns herself with the Inner Circle Church of Peace and Love, Inc., the Black United Fund, the AARP and the NAACP.

Throughout her career, Ms. Branche has consistently been recognized for making a difference in the lives of others, as well as her community at large. In addition to being named "A Giraffe," or someone who sticks their neck out for others, by The Giraffe Foundation in the late 1980s, she was also named a "Hellraiser" in Mother Jones Magazine in their January 1997 issue. For her outstanding industry expertise, she also became an honored VIP member through Covington Who's Who. Looking ahead, Ms. Branche intends to continue teaching others how to combat injustice and write another book.
