HOLDEN, MO, October 14, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mary M. Sisk has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Sisk has provided superior service to her community in Holden for over 40 years in construction, painting and roofing, first as a partner with her husband, Virgil Sisk Jr., in the company he founded in 1980, Sisk Painting and Roofing LLC. Subsequently, Ms. Sisk has worked with Sisk Construction LLC, the renamed company she has headed since Mr. Sisk's retirement in 2016. Sisk Construction specializes in historical restoration, renovating and rehabilitating structures that are in some cases over a century old, including churches, courthouses, commercial and residential buildings. The company has also excelled in general contracting with an emphasis on flat, metal, slate, shingle and wood roof repair as well as brickwork, waterproofing and masonry repair and cleaning.
According to Ms. Sisk, her career highlight with Sisk Construction was the restoration of the Bates County Courthouse in Butler, Missouri, a magnificent Richardsonian Romanesque building designed by architect George E. McDonald, constructed in 1902 in Carthage limestone and listed in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Sisk Construction worked on the building for the better part of two decades in the 1990s and 2000s until the job was completed in 2007. Ms. Sisk's company restored the built-in gutters, statues, catwalk and ornate designs on the towers that had been stripped away over the decades, and their excellent work was featured in several periodicals including Missouri, West Central Electric and St. Luke's Hospital Magazine.
Ms. Sisk, a committed member of her community, sponsors local charity groups such as the Holden Chamber of Commerce and a number of community churches, for which Sisk Construction has completed building and repair work for free. In the coming years, she is hoping for her company's continued success and is looking toward her own retirement, after which her son will take over the business.
