Dr. Grete has been celebrated for his courage and devotion on behalf of his country. In 1958, he was commissioned into the United States Air Force. For over 20 years, he honorably served as an officer in the United States Air Force, having logged more than 5,700 flying hours as a pilot over the course of his service. In the twilight of his service to the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Grete co-founded the Rocky Bayou Christian School in 1973, an experience that would change his life forever.
From 1973 until 2005, Dr. Grete served as the superintendent of the Rocky Bayou Christian School. Prior to this role, he was employed as a teacher at various institutions, including the United States Military Academy at West Point, the University of Maryland, Troy University and Okaloosa Junior College, now known as Northwest Florida State College. Moreover, Dr. Grete has provided assistance as the treasurer for the Twin Cities Ministerial Association and as an elder for the Grace Presbyterian Church.
For his brave displays of heroism as an officer in the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Grete was notably presented with two Silver Stars, one Distinguished Flying Cross, and 13 Air Medals. He also received an Army Commendation Medal and two meritorious service awards for his service outside of combat. Recognizing the importance of a strong education, he obtained a Bachelor of Science from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, a Master of Arts in political science at Baylor University and a Master of Business Administration from Auburn University. He has earned an honorary doctorate of pedagogy from Clearwater Christian College. Presently, Dr. Grete holds the distinguished title of superintendent emeritus for the Rocky Bayou Christian School.
