Since 1983, he has excelled as a professor at the City College of the City University of New York, with which he has additionally held the Henry Semat Chair and Professorship in Theoretical Physics. Dr. Kaku began his career as a research associate at Princeton University from 1972 to 1973.

More recently, he penned "Physics of the Impossible: A Scientific Exploration into the World of Phasers, Force Fields, Teleportation and Time Travel" in 2008, "Physics of the Future: How Science Will Shape Human Destiny and Our Daily Lives by the Year 2100" in 2011, "The Future of the Mind: The Scientific Quest to Understand, Enhance and Empower the Mind" in 2014 and "The Future of Humanity: Terraforming Mars, Interstellar Travel, Immortality, and Our Destiny Beyond Earth" in 2018. With myriad articles, textbooks and other publications to his credit, Dr. Kaku is currently preparing for the release of his forthcoming book, "The God Equation: The Quest for a Theory of Everything," in April of 2021.

Prior to embarking on his professional path, Dr. Kaku pursued an education at Harvard University, from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Science, summa cum laude, in 1968. Soon thereafter, he completed service in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970, during which time he completed his basic training at Fort Benning in Georgia and advanced infantry training at Fort Lewis in Washington. He concluded his formal studies in the Berkeley Radiation Laboratory at the University of California Berkeley, from which he obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in 1972. Following these accomplishments, Dr. Kaku was presented with honorary doctorates from Hofstra University and the State University of New York at Old Westbury in 1997.

Dr. Kaku has been additionally active in numerous endeavors outside of his primary professional responsibilities. As a visiting professor and lecturer, he has provided his unique research and knowledge to the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton University in 1973 and New York University in 1990. He has also participated in the fifth annual Global Competitiveness Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 2011 as well as the Graduation Ceremony for High Point University as a speaker in 2018. Moreover, Dr. Kaku has contributed to the advisory board for CuriosityStream.
