An interior architect specializing in bathroom and kitchen designs, Ms. Lee has excelled as the owner of SISU Home Designs by Sara Lee LLC since 2017. Interior design has been a lifelong passion for her, as she grew up drawing and building model houses, decorating and rearranging rooms and aspiring to study architecture or design. In 2002, Ms. Lee earned an Associate of Science in interior design at Alexandria Technical College as well as an additional certification from the National Kitchen and Bath Association.
Ms. Lee began her career in the corporate design department of a major cabinet manufacturer, eventually departing to work in sales and design for a family-owned cabinet dealership in Virginia for more than five years. From 2010 to 2013, she accepted a position with a high-end kitchen and bath design firm in Bethesda, Maryland. In the years that followed, Ms. Lee further flourished with design firms throughout North Carolina, as a market direction manager for luxury carpentry designers Goodman Millwork and with FurnitureLand South.
Ms. Lee eventually established SISU Home Designs by Sara Lee LLC in 2017, utilizing more than 15 years of expertise in design, finish and construction to execute her clients' kitchen and bath visions by seamlessly coordinating design, procurement, installation and detail services. Describing her work as an incredibly personal endeavor, SISU is a reference to her Finnish heritage, meaning "guts, gumption and going beyond what you think might be the last effort," and strives to focus on doing the right thing every day, one project at a time. Since 2021, Ms. Lee has also found success as the membership director for the American Society of Interior Designers.
Moreover, Ms. Lee has been active as a member of the National Kitchen & Bath Association. Outside her primary responsibilities, Ms. Lee has maintained her involvement as a deacon in her local church, performed in eight productions with her area community theater and considers motherhood to be her greatest calling. Looking toward the future, Ms. Lee hopes to open a retail location for SISU Home Designs by Sara Lee LLC.
