Mr. Allison has found success as the environmental health and safety director of NOVO Construction Inc. since 2013. He was inspired to pursue a professional path in safety by his father, who worked as a safety engineer, in addition to his desire to help people and make a difference. Mr. Allison began his career in 1980, at which point he served as a journeyman ironworker in San Francisco.
Throughout his career, Mr. Allison was active as a foreman for a steel company, a corporate safety manager and a safety manager for multiple companies. From 2007 to 2012, he was appointed as the senior loss control consultant at American International Group. Mr. Allison is further certified as an occupational hygiene and safety technician, a construction health and safety technician, a construction risk insurance specialist, and an ordained minister.
Aside from his primary vocational pursuits, Mr. Allison has contributed to his community as a chaplain of the Royal Rangers for the Bethel Church and a children and youth director for the Southeast Asian Assembly of San Jose from 1982 to 1987. He then became the Senior Pastor for Southeast Asian Assembly of God in San Jose, California. The ministry focus being to the Lao, Mien and Hmong immigrants which came to the United States after the Indo-China wars in Southeast Asia. Thomas and his wife Nitaya remained in that position until 2005. From 2005 to the present, Thomas and Nitaya Allison have played active roles in church leadership with the Northern California/Nevada District Council of the Assemblies of God. He previously obtained an associate degree in theology and missiology studies at Berean University. Notably, Mr. Allison has been honored as a patriotic employer by the U.S. Department of Defense and was recognized among the Outstanding Young Men of America in 1988.
