SACRAMENTO, CA, October 25, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Fire Chief Gary E. Loesch has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Drawing on more than four decades of experience, Chief Loesch has thrived as the Fire Chief of the Sacramento Fire Department since 2018. Along with supervising more than 700 firefighters and first responders, he oversees the execution of a myriad of related activities, such as fire suppression, wildland response and the mitigation of hazardous materials. Chief Loesch also serves as the Chief of Urban Search and Rescue California Task Force 7, which is an elite disaster response team established by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Prior to his success with the Sacramento Fire Department, Chief Loesch worked as the Deputy Fire Commissioner of the Philadelphia Fire Department. Originally recruited as a firefighter in 1985, he gradually ascended to the ranks of a Lieutenant, Captain and Fire Battalion Chief throughout the following 30 years before assuming authority over more than 2,700 firefighters and first responders. During this period, Chief Loesch was additionally selected to develop and implement the Philadelphia Fire Academy's inaugural Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program, which eventually awarded up to seven national certifications to more than 400 fire officers.

In 2021, Chief Loesch was deeply honored to be included in Sacramento Magazine's "100 Notable Business Leaders" feature. He attributes a great deal of his success to upbringing and the mentorship of his grandfather. His passions for helping others and overcoming incredible challenges were also fueled by his years of loyal service in the United States Army. In the coming years, Chief Loesch intends to spend more time with his family as he settles into retirement.
