    MINNEAPOLIS, MN, October 28, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Lily Esther Shih Christ, EdD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Christ celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Dr. Christ earned the distinguished title of a professor emerita of mathematics at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, The City University of New York, where she taught for more than 35 wonderful years. Garnering a reputation as a passionate, caring and dedicated educator. She also had the opportunity to serve as the HI-TECH PREP director from 1993 until 2003 and, during her tenure, was influential in the establishment of the mathematics resource center on the John Jay campus. Dr. Christ had formerly spent two years teaching at the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale, NY between 1966 and 1968. She was also a statistics laboratory assistant at the Teachers College at Columbia University from 1964 to 1971 and taught in the public school system in Cleveland for two years, beginning in 1960.

Alongside her husband, Dr. Christ has always greatly valued education. Throughout the course of her career, they have contributed significantly to several universities and established endowed scholarships.

Dr. Christ's parents and several of her teachers greatly influenced her decision to become an educator. While coming of age, she was fortunate to attend several different schools and expose herself to various languages and cultures. After graduating from high school, Dr. Christ studied at the University of Minnesota, where she acquired a Bachelor of Science in 1960. Continuing her studies, she received a Master of Arts at Western Reserve University in 1962 and a Doctor of Education at Columbia University in 1967.

Dr. Christ was a Fulbright scholar. She remained active as a figure in her professional community through membership with several prominent professional organizations. She is a former governor of the Metropolitan New York Chapter of the Mathematical Association of America, where she notably received a Certificate of Meritorious Service Award in 1987 and a Distinguished College Teaching Math Award in 2004. Dr. Christ is also a former district 3 governor of the American Statistical Association.
