Drawing on years of professional expertise in business, childcare and more, Ms. Palmer serves today as the founder, executive director and John Maxwell certified speaker, coach, and trainer of Talking Business With Barbara. She is also a freelance certified business coach, the president and chief executive officer of a successful non-profit called Kingdom Kare Inc., and the founder and executive director of Kingdom Kare Childcare Center. In this latter capacity, she maintains responsibility for children from pre-school age to young teenagers, supervises department heads and facilitates community outreach. Additionally, Ms. Palmer serves with the Kingdom Celebration Center as a pastor.
During an earlier stage of her career, Ms. Palmer gained valuable expertise in the field as the director of programs for the YWCA of Annapolis & Anne Arudel County, an international accounts supervisor for AirCargo Inc., and as the head teller for the Department of Defense. Throughout the course of her career, she has expanded upon her expertise by earning a Bachelor of Arts in bank finance from the American Institute of Banking, a Bachelor of Arts in divinity from the Andersonville Theological Seminary, a master's degree in pastoral counseling from Andersonville Theological Seminary and a bachelor's degree in early childhood, with a minor in psychology, from Ashford University.
Ms. Palmer is a member of Alpha Beta Kappa and the National Honor Society. Alongside her work in the field, she devotes herself to the National Early Childhood Accreditation Program where she serves as board president, Anne Arundel County Chambers of Commerce, the Early Childhood Coalition for Anne Arundel County and the eWomen Network Group. Due to her outstanding breadth of knowledge, Ms. Palmer authored "Trust Your Journey Prayer Journal" and "No Regrets."
For her professional achievements, Ms. Palmer became a finalist for an Indie Author Legacy Award, won the Fannie Lou Hammer Award, earned the County Executive Steuart Pittman & the Caucus of African American Leaders Michelle Obama Executive Certification and received the Shero Award for Business from the National Coalition of 100 Black Women. While her career has been filled with highlights, she is most proud to have built her nonprofit organization from its humble beginnings. By 2026, Ms. Palmer aims to have expanded Kingdom Kare Inc. beyond the state of Maryland.
