Dr. Mitchell has been nominated for the university's Outstanding Professor Award on two occasions.

ADRIAN, MI, November 01, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Carrie L. Mitchell has been included in Marquis Who's Who. For more than 10 years, Dr. Mitchell has served as an associate professor of education at Siena Heights University. Thanks to her seasoned expertise in neurological and genetic disorders, she has also maintained involvement as the chairperson of the aforementioned university's special education department since 2012. An advocate for individuals with disabilities for over 25 years, Dr. Mitchell focuses primarily on transferring her wealth of knowledge onto the next generation of special education teachers.

Alongside her responsibilities as an educator and administrator, Dr. Mitchell has composed numerous degree and certification programs for Siena Heights University. She additionally excels as the chairperson of Siena Heights University's institutional review board committee and currently maintains active affiliations with the Directors and Representatives of Teacher Education Programs, the Michigan Association of Colleges for Teacher Education and the Council for Exceptional Children. Dr. Mitchell previously earned a master degree as well as a Doctor of Education from the University of Toledo.

In recognition of her invaluable contributions to Siena Heights University, Dr. Mitchell has been nominated for the university's Outstanding Professor Award on two occasions. She attributes a great deal of her success to her ardent passion for her work alongside students and colleagues. In the coming years, Dr. Mitchell intends to deepen her contributions to numerous professional journals while settling into retirement.
