Ms. Westerlund's responsibilities include managing daily tasks for the town's board of appeals, overseeing public relations and legal advertising, securing applications for variances and permits and mentoring the staff.
For over 40 years, Ms. Westerlund was employed as a secretary at the Pentagon, where she began working just one year after graduating from Bellport High School. Drawing great satisfaction out of community involvement, she also formerly served as a leader for the Girl Scouts of America.
