After serving in the United States Army from 1971 to 1973, Mr. Sievert earned a degree in safety management from Washington State Community College in 1977. He began his career as a safety engineer with United Engineers and Constructors from 1973 to 1985. Mr. Sievert subsequently excelled at Cigna P&C from 1985 to 2000.
Mr. Sievert was additionally active as a health and environmental consultant with ESIS Global Safety from 1999 to 2000. He was later appointed as the president of the NNE Safety Council from 2010 to 2011. Furthermore, Mr. Sievert operated as regional director and vice president of Acadia Insurance from 2002 to 2016.
Since 2017, Mr. Sievert has found success as the president of Sievert Safety Training LLC. He has also taught safety management, security and management courses at his alma mater, Washington State Community College. The past president of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Sievert is a member of the American Legion, the American Society of Safety Professionals, the Board Certified Safety Professionals and the National Fire Protection Association.
Mr. Sievert has received several honors throughout his career, including the Distinguished Service to Safety Award from the National Safety Council in 2019 and a JCI Senatorship from Jaycee International in 1983. He attributes his success to dedication and hard work, and he considers his most notable achievement to have been inspiring others to enter his field. In the coming years, Mr. Sievert intends to continue working.
